Architecture of Your Face
There's a land of skin and bone
where all our scars and bruises show
it's the only place tonight I want to be-
a wilderness where I was meant to roam,
tend things that grow outside the stone on stone.
Take me anywhere between the stars and the sea
And I know it won't be easy,
but I think it's worth it anyway...
And so we are among the lucky ones
who just escaped the raging of the guns.
There are better uses for our bodies than this fight.
It didn't take the city long to burn;
now there's a whole world waiting to relearn
the courage it can take to just lie down at night
And I know it won't be easy
but I think it's worth it anyway...
And I can see a stretch of land
where ancient buildings used to stand
before the trees and weeds reclaimed the place,
where broken dreams lie underground,
the only structure to be found
is the architecture of your face, the architecture of your face
and I know it won't be easy
but I think it's worth it anyway...
